Drip Less Candle
December 10, 2002
This candle was created so as to use all the wax.
Tom grew tired of trimming scented candles, trying to get all that scent
into the air. It was several years before he came up with this novel idea
to just let a short piece of wick come out several inches from the top
of the copper pipe. The heat from the flame heats the wax inside the pipe.
The bottom is soldered onto a copper base plate far enough away from the
hot wax so as not to loosen the solder.
You add candle scrapings into the top and it slowly
gets dispensed through the wick. Tom is trying to figure out a way to
have a wick that does not burn up.
