Sold for $25 January 2008

Young Girl with Blond Hair, Watercolor on paper, 8.5" x 11", Sold

Thank you for the new painting. It seems to be a little like you. The simple colors of red, black and flesh really make the painting. The blue eyes are very effective. Your raw painting style is quite the modern thing. We have to concentrate on producing high quality work like this. Why it is so? Well it will be a long time until you realize what makes it so but in time you will. Patiences. The price should be more like $150. At that price you want to paint it on high quality paper.

As a conclusion:
Patty is truly an artist. It is hard to imagine what she goes through to create but the results are inspiring. It is almost impossible to imagine her method.
Questions I have for Patty are: Do you like it? Do you think it is successful? What did you want to do?
It is good to use something to go by on your first attempts. I use a old master work to guide me when I want to start something new. The more I work the more I realize they are masters because they happened to have what the human soul wants. To work within a format of no controls is very hard. What do you use for a solid base? Use reality and its delicate interface with human interest and sensibilities as your guide and you will never go wrong.
Patty has made tremendous improvement going from straight coloring book images to a combination of watercolor washes for the background and coloring book figures and additional figures made from Claris Works.
Patty may write a good story about each work, especially the important basic facts. Size, date, medium.
